The Product Analyst for Commercial Lines will
develop, implement and maintain insurance
products, services and tools for field use,
servicing one or more lines of business, and
working closely with assigned product managers
in establishing priorities. Accountable for
timely implementation of product changes.
Functions as a project team member on technology
projects.
Allocation of Time:
20% - Project management and issue resolution
20% - Support development of Underwriting
guidelines, forms, manual rules, and business
specifications
40% - LOB analysis and support
20% - Compliance research and analysis
Key Position
Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring rate changes, rules,
and forms are timely. Proactively monitors
environment to assure products stay current.
Reviews Bureau circulars and regulatory
bulletins for product impact and recommends
and/or takes action. Monitors claims trends and
recommends action. Responds to compliance
issues. Participates in market conduct reviews,
regulatory inquiries, internal compliance
department requests and investigations.

Work with product managers to create new
insurance products. Works with claims and legal
to put coverage language in final form. Modifies
coverage wording and regulatory notifications to
policy holders on existing products.

Works with product manager to introduce new
products, develop field communications and
assist with marketing material. Provide
specifications, rate prioritization and
scheduling, and form implementation as performed
by the client. Partners with project manager for
seamless delivery through regular
communications/priority meetings. Identify
workflow impacts and implement process changes
in partnership with CL Operations.

May be driven by Investment Proposals or
compliance needs. May act as lead business
representative on projects. Identifies and
executes improvements. Leads project cycle from
proposal to implementation from the business
perspective.

Responsible for partnering with procurement in
the vendor negotiation process. Monitors usage
and cost, and makes recommendations for change
where necessary. Works with vendors/external
partners to recommend vendor product/service
improvements. Business lead in implementing
changes to vendor products and processes.

Assists in developing and delivering training
for underwriters (including trainees),
operations, and Agency Company Automation
Coordinators.
Additional Skills
Beneficial:

Product development background: Experience as a
product analyst in either personal lines or
commercial lines.

3-5 Years Experience in Underwriting
·
3-5 years Experience in an Analyst role: Has
functioned as a business analyst, with
background supporting Commercial Lines. |
