Job Description:
Northeast Shared Services (NESS) Accounting.
This position provides leadership to a staff of
50+ accounting professionals that support two
segments with over $7 billion of revenue and
approximately 24,000 employees. Services
provided include: revenue recognition and
contract accounting, cost center accounting,
general ledger and financial reporting,
inter-company accounting, and timekeeping and
labor accounting.
Specific Responsibilities:

Ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity
of financial results

Provide supported businesses with required
financial information
-
Respond to internal, external, and
government audit inquiries
-
Satisfy routine and ad hoc reporting and
analytical requirements
-
Coordinate the preparation of Quarterly
Trial Balance Review packages
-
Develop and maintain a sufficiently skilled,
educated, and trained organization
-
Assist our client’s SAP Competency Center to
implement the Achieving Process Excellence
(APEX) system at additional sites and
enhance its current capabilities/utilization
-
Represent the NESS Accounting at
company-wide and cross-functional meetings,
discussions, workshops, and conferences
-
Perform other special projects as needed

Provide leadership and guidance to the
functions described below, initially in a
dual capacity with the

Director of Accounting, eventually as the
Director of Accounting
Manager of Contract Accounting, Taxes,
Accounting Systems and Controls
General Scope: Provides leadership to a staff of
ten (10)+ accounting professionals and is
responsible for setting up and maintaining over
16,000 projects which includes various
Sarbanes-Oxley key controls and related revenue
recognition and settlement. Services provided
include: financial and project reporting
(sales, cost of sales and unbilled, billed CIP
and advances), revenue recognition, contract
accounting, tax reporting and accounting systems
and related conversion expertise.
Manager, Cost Center Accounting and Burden Rates
General Scope: Provide leadership to a staff of
four (4) accounting professionals responsible
for the application of indirect expenses to
final cost objectives (customer and
inter-organization projects). Services provided
include: cost center and burden rate accounting
and reporting, cost transfer processing, and
Indirect Rate Proposal preparation and audit
support.
Manager, General Ledger, Financial Reporting,
IOT Accounting, and Accounts Payable Interfaces
General Scope: Provide leadership to a staff of
ten (10) accounting professionals. Services
provided include: maintaining the general
ledger and strong internal controls, supporting
internal, external and government audits,
material accounting and inter-company
transactions.
Manager,
Labor Accounting and Related Interfaces
General Scope: Manage a staff of twenty one
(21) employees across multiple locations
responsible for assuring SAP/CATS timecard
labor, including vendor labor, complies with all
company policies. Verify the gathering and
distribution of employee labor charges and
ensure that they are
properly/accurately/completely forwarded to
payroll (FSS) and financial ledgers (NESS).
Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 12 (twelve) years of related
professional experience in Accounting or
Finance

Certified Public Accountant
-
Required Education: Bachelor of Art/Bachelor
of Science degree from an accredited
university or college in Accounting, Finance
or Business related degree
Desired Qualifications:
-
Twelve (12) plus years of direct experience
in Accounting or Finance
-
Seven (7) years of direct experience
managing and leading a team of professionals
-
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and
Department Defense FAR Supplement
-
Demonstrated effectiveness in managing in a
results-oriented and deadline sensitive
environment
-
Ability to communicate effectively with
staff, peers, leadership and auditors

Excellent organizational skills and
attention to detail

Ability to communicate effectively in
writing, particularly with external
customers

Ability to lead and motivate subordinates

Demonstrated Contract Accounting knowledge

Experience in large ERP systems, preferably
SAP
