Manager I, for Disability
Claims will:
-
Supervise unit of
Disability Claims Case Managers to ensure timely and
appropriate case management of claims of moderate and
severe complexity.

Monitor and
ensure that team follows established practices for
consistent case management, rendering complete and
timely initial determinations and maintaining action
plans in accordance with current procedures and duration
guidelines.

Monitor and ensure that claims decisions are based on
contractual definition of disability, are timely, and
are supported by appropriate system
documentation/resource utilization.

Provide immediate
mentoring and feedback to staff; address claimant-level
service issues with both claimants and local employer
representatives.

Develop and
maintain a high performance claims team, while creating
a culture of commitment to success, energy, and
enthusiasm.

Assist Manager in
addressing larger workflow and staffing issues within
unit.
Successful candidate will
posses the following skills:
-
B.A./B.S. or equivalent
experience plus 4-6 years of disability claims case
management experience (or related claims experience)

Supervisory or team leader
experience preferred but not required

Demonstrated customer
service, mentoring, leadership, organizational, problem
solving, and advanced case management skills required.
