This position is responsible for developing new business, underwriting, retaining a portfolio of profitable lending relationships and negotiating loan structures and documentation. This position utilizes knowledge of ancillary services and products to facilitate cross selling.

Identifies business opportunities, develops existing customer base and initiates new client relationships of moderate revenue potential and complexity to meet production goals.

Structures, underwrites and presents loan requests in accordance with internal policies and procedures.

Effectively negotiates terms, structure and pricing to bring opportunities to closure with minimal revisions and collaboration with senior staff members or management.

Utilizes sales skills to build a portfolio of prospective clients and develop a referral network.

Identifies problem loans and performs workout of problem loans with minimal collaboration with senior staff members or management.

Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of all commercial products including loans, cash management, trade service products and deposits to facilitate cross selling and enhance the customer experience.

Attends networking functions and events to maintain a presence in the community.

College degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • 5-8 years relevant experience.

Behavioral/Technical Skills:

  • Excellent PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet and internal software.

  • Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and presentation skills are needed to achieve sales objectives in a professional environment.

  • Excellent analytical skills are needed to underwrite and monitor loans and identify business opportunities in a highly competitive and fast paced environment.

  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and personal integrity to build credibility and trust and enhance the organization's reputation in the lending community.

  • Maintains comprehensive understanding of commercial products offered in the market and keeps informed of all relevant industry trends and practices.

  • Ability to share knowledge and skills with junior staff members
