Senior Tax Analyst – Compliance

BASIC SUMMARY: 

Responsible for supporting the tax function by researching, analyzing, recommending and implementing a variety of tax strategies. Coordinate the timely and accurate filing of income tax returns. Maintain tax records, related schedules, and related reports. Prepare and collect data necessary for local, state and federal tax returns. Prepare reports and schedules regarding tax or treasury issues as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the Company’s effective tax rate calculation in accordance with FAS

  • 109 on a quarterly and annual basis and prepare necessary reports.

  • Gather and reconcile information in order for outside advisors to prepare the

  • Company’s federal, state and local income tax returns and/or estimated tax

  • payments.

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of tax returns with outside advisors to

  • ensure accurate and timely filings.  

  • Respond to federal, state and local income tax notices and coordinate or respond

  • to tax examinations. 

  • Respond to day-to-day questions from management on various tax issues such as

  • option exercises, compensation matters, fringe benefits such as company

  • automobiles and develop procedures to meet the documentation requirements applicable to these items.

  • Research tax issues such as stock options, executive compensation, acquisitions

  • and corporate taxation and report findings and make recommendations for

  • changes to corporate management. 

  • Research, identify and recommend corporate tax reductions strategies. 

  • Prepare annual earnings and profits calculations.

  • Review tax depreciation calculations and assess book to tax differences.

  • Adhere to controls established under Sarbanes Oxley for the income tax cycle.

  • Reconcile U.S. income tax general ledger accounts and consolidate global balance

  • sheet accounts as required.

  • Assist with the preparation of annual transfer pricing documentation and respond

  • to inter-company pricing inquiries as required.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.  Masters in Taxation is preferred.

  • Experience:  Five to ten years of directly related experience.   

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

  • Certification/Licensure:  CPA is preferred.

  • Other:  Strong communications and organization skills required.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

COMMENTS:

This position may require occasional domestic/international travel.
