Master / Senior Planners are responsible for capture phase program planning, leading the program planning and scheduling effort through program startup and establishment of EV baseline through Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), leading analysis and schedule risk assessments and providing direction and support to teams of Project Planners/Schedulers.

The successful Lead must show leadership and the initiative to guide Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in complex implementations.  Excellent team and interpersonal communication skills, business acumen, expert planning and scheduling knowledge, and a desire to work in engineering and science related environments is required.  Strong customer relationship skills re required. Experience in DoD projects required.  May be required to travel and may manage multiple project teams in parallel.
Job Description:
Lead, develop and advise on all planning and scheduling elements of an IMP/IMS based program, including leading development of the Program Master Phasing Schedule, IMP/IMS, providing analysis of integrated schedules including critical path analysis, and leading approach and implementation for Schedule Risk Analysis.

Analyze contract requirements and work closely with contracting staff to provide suitable, timely and accurate input for contract modifications

  • Review/develop requirements for major subcontractors scope and reporting requirements, and schedule integration strategy.

  • Develops schedule structures to ensure horizontal and vertical traceability.

  • Experience with developing programs requiring DoD DID MGMT-81650.

  • Schedules regular status and working meetings with each engineering group to advance the project.

  • Track and assess program progress, and recommend strategies to adjust to proposed program changes.

  • Manage and supervise planners and schedulers as required.

  • Supporting department strategies for deploying and implementing new initiatives.

  • Will support IPDS deployment and tailoring.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years experience working on Government programs, directly related to developing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) is required.

  • Demonstrated IMP/IMS team management skills.

  • Experience working in a proposal environment.

  • Experience working on large complex programs, including experience as Prime Contractor Planner responsible for integrating schedules from major subcontractor(s)

  • Experience on multiple programs as Senior Planner responsible for execution of the IMP/IMS: including setup, baseline management and update/maintenance, schedule analysis, critical path analysis

  • Experience in assisting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in planning, scheduling and cost estimating tasks

  • Demonstrated experience in and independently capable of assessing program information and developing cohesive, integrated approach for program plans & schedule development

  • Experience providing direction/supervision to less experienced planners/schedulers.

  • Experience in Microsoft Project, Visio, Schedule Risk Analysis tools

  • Must have the ability to work independently with general direction and minimal supervision,

  • In-depth knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) 

  • Understanding of Integrated Product Development System (IPDS)

  • Understanding of Engineering Development and Production processes

  • Ability to Obtain DOD Security Secret Clearance

  • US Citizenship required

  • Bachelor Degree required

  • Program Management Professional (PMP)

  • Experience with Critical Chain

  • Problem solving skills: Ability to work on problems of diverse scope and complexity.

  • Demonstrated good judgment in analyzing and selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities

  • Existing DOD secret security clearance preferred

  • Exhibit a positive attitude and the ability to work well with program team
