Senior Project Engineer

Our client, a pioneer in innovative cleaning solutions and small household appliances, seeks a “top talent” Senior Project Engineer to join their team in Newton, MA. This position will be responsible for full life cycle project management of Kitchen Appliances from initial concept to complete product development. 

Duties include:

  • Proactively managing project plans and schedules
  • Managing flow of information to key project personnel
  • Tracking and monitoring cost estimates with actual costs and making appropriate    adjustments
  • Working with manufacturing to generate tool build schedules
  • Conducting status update meetings and issuing action items to assigned team members; updating Executive Team with an outline of any variation and risks
  • Managing the execution of action items resulting from stage gate reviews
  • Tracking and monitoring development metrics
  • Managing all program logistics related to deliverable milestones and timelines
  • Leading cross functional teams from product initiation to production release

To be qualified for this position you must have:

  • BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related science
  • 5-10 years related job experience in an electro/mechanical engineering environment (i.e. Engineer, Quality, Program Management)
  • Min  5 years experience in a lead Project Engineering role with complex integrated assemblies and or engineering systems
  • Extensive experience with new product development processes and transitioning programs through manufacturing processes
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequent changes
  • Ability to travel 25% to Asian manufacturing facilities
